Check out AlphaLearnr. It's a flickr mashup that uses photos to teach children the English alphabet. Some of the photo choices for letters are very good, horse for H and quartz for Q; yet others make no sense, like images of birds for the word Kite.

7 1/2 Habits of Lifelong Learning

This is sure to be an interesting journey. I don't consider myself a cutting edge "techie" and in fact I am frequently overwhelmed by the abundance of technology and the speed with which it changes. With that in mind, I think that Habit # 6 (Using technology to your advantage) will be the most challenging. My plan is to focus on selective use of technology applying a William Morris style of criteria: is it useful and is it pleasing? The easiest habit should be # 7 1/2 (PLAY!) especially with license to do it at work!
